Tour de France 2024, 2nd stage from Cesenatico to Bologna: route and timetable

The 2024 edition of the Tour de France, the most beloved cycling race in the world, continues. The Grande Boucle this year has a very particular route (also due to the concomitance with the Olympics in France). The start was in fact from Italy (from Florence), and will arrive after 21 stages with an individual time trial in Nice (an unprecedented finale compared to the classic parade in Paris). Today, the second stage winds from Cesenatico to Bologna, for 198.7 km. Yesterday, the first stage was won by Romain Bardet who also won the yellow jersey.

The second stage

From Cesenatico, the group will face some flat sections before arriving at the first two climbs, in particular the Gallisterna, just before the Imola circuit. The grand finale includes a double circuit of the city of Bologna with a double passage on the iconic San Luca climb (1.9 km at 10.6%). The departure time is set for 12.15pm, and the estimated arrival time is between 5.06pm and 5.33pm.
