Sanremo. After a month dedicated to syncopated music with the third edition of the “Swing Corner of the Fortress”, the related exhibition in the rooms of the Magazzino di Levante is also coming to an end.

Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June will be the last two days of the exhibition entitled “Paper Sings… Illustration, Graphics and Music in Twentieth-Century Publishing” set up by the Stan Kenton Music Studies Centre with an original display of period scores: from the oldest dating back to 1905 to the most recent from 1974. The exhibition is divided into several thematic panels presenting topics such as “Exoticisms”, “Futurisms”, “Good Mood Songs”, “Radio Songs”, “Once Upon a Time There Was a Festival”, “International Successes”, as well as a focus on the Sanremo music publisher Carlo Beltramo.

In addition to the panels, the exhibition is completed with three display cases containing other rarities, including pieces illustrated by Antonio Rubino and Boccasile. The pieces on display, illustrated by famous artists from various eras, come from the Mediateca della Pigna collection, the archive of the Federazione Operaia Sanremese and the Roman collector Roberto Berlini.

The exhibition will be open in the next few days at the following times: from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6pm. Tomorrow, Saturday 29th at 5pm the curator Freddy Colt – musicologist and artistic director of the initiative – will be available to welcome visitors for the last guided tour. Entrance to the Fort costs 4 euros, reduced 3 euros (for young people aged 18-25), free for those under 18.
