Another purchase for Marco Baroni. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru arrives at Lazio. The 23-year-old Nigerian attacking midfielder becomes the fourth reinforcement defined by the Biancoceleste club. In the wake of Tchaouna from Salernitana and Noslin with Cabal from Verona: all waiting to be made official. For Dele-Bashiru the last piece was missing to close the operation: the agreement with the player was concluded in the last few hours. For days, however, there was already an agreement with Hatayspor: loan with obligation to buy for a total cost of around six million euros.

Raised in the Manchester City youth system, Dele-Bashiru moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2020. Last summer he left England to move to Turkey. In the season with Hatayspor he made 39 appearances, 9 goals and 6 assists. As a role he can be framed as an attacking midfielder, but he is also a solution for the midfield given his athletic power (1.86 tall). His characteristics remind Baroni a lot of Michael Folorunsho, revelation and lynchpin of his Verona last season. He is not arriving to be a starter: Lazio is always looking on the market for Luis Alberto’s successor. But Dele-Bashiru is certainly ready to play all his cards from the first day of the Auronzo retreat (starting on July 11).
