PESCARA. The start of what should be the decisive week for the future of Pescara is with a bang. And it hasn’t been good news for the fans. Attilio Tesser, barring sensational changes of heart, will not be the new coach of the white and blues. Yesterday, DS Daniele Delli Carri made an economic offer to the former Modena coach, but there is too much distance between supply and demand. We wrote some time ago about center that there was an agreement on the duration of the contract (two years) and on the technical project. But that a compromise had to be found on the salary. And in fact the big problem is that the Venetian coach Attilio Tesser absolutely does not want to associate his severance pay from Triestina with the salary from Pescara. Sebastiani instead wanted, as logic dictates, to have a first year strongly “discounted” by Triestina. So the paths diverge.
In short, Tesser wants a two-year contract at the figures he deems appropriate, but his first year of agreement must not be conditioned by the severance pay of Triestina, which remains a personal matter. And with Fabio Caserta who has made it clear that he will wait for Serie B (again barring any changes of heart), who will be the new Pescara coach?
The names for the bench. Pescara will now return to what was one of the very first names explored after the elimination from the play-offs. Silvio Baldini becomes the first name on the list and in the next few days he will speak with Daniele Sebastiani. The unknown? The exuberant character of the former Palermo player, but technically Baldini is a guarantee. And in Sicily two years ago he signed the championship victory in the play-offs by beating Massimo Oddo’s Padova in the final. Sebastiani wants to speak to us (subject to Navarra’s approval) and understand well: if the spark were to ignite, Silvio Baldini will be the new coach.
For C he is a luxury profile and an absolute guarantee. The module used? Basically 4-2-3-1. If the queens are not reached, Pescara will turn to Andrea Chiappella and Giana Erminio will have to be convinced to let their coach go. Chiappella has won a lot of applause in the last season and despite his young age (36 years old) he is a very interesting profile. But, we repeat, Giana Erminio will have to be convinced to release in July a coach on whom the club is strongly banking. It will be up to Chiappella himself to find a solution. And there is also talk of Ledian Memushaj again: the former white and blue captain is held in high esteem by Sebastiani and is also liked by Delli Carri. He will be proposed to Rosettano Navarra in the event of black smokes with Baldini and Chiappella.
With Tesser unreachable from an economic point of view (except for second thoughts) and with Caserta that has chosen at the moment to wait for the B, there are therefore three coaches on the list. Silvio Baldini, Andrea Chiappella and Ledian Memushaj. Names that, we repeat, will be shared with Rosettano Navarra who instead had given his approval for Attilio Tesser.
The society. Yesterday, during the presentation at the official Pescara store of the new technical sponsor Joma with the handshake between Sebastiani and the commercial manager Alessandro Annibale, the current number one of the white and blue company also clarified the corporate issue. «I sent the written proposal made by my lawyer to Navarra. I am very confident that everything will go well and then we will start the sporting project together».
The agreement with Navarra. Here is the proposal in detail. Transfer of 20% of Pescara shares free of charge and it will be up to the entrepreneur from Ferentino to inject fresh money for sports management. How much will he pay? What is needed to have a competitive team by adding fresh money to the current budget (this is how the Tesser operation on the necessary players was explained).
And Navarra will have the opportunity in June 2025 to buy the majority with a unilateral option. But today President Sebastiani continues to work to find a strong investor who can guarantee a real leap in quality. The foreign fund, to be clear. And the trip made to France by Sebastiani a week ago could be an important clue.
And what will happen if the purchase proposal arrives with Navarra having 20%? That the former Pontedera player, having the option, can decide to take Pescara matching the fund’s offer or leave capitalizing his 20%. Navarra operation closed at 100%? On paper there are excellent possibilities. But when it comes to the transfer of shares, lawyers and similar things, we need to wait for the signatures.
