Arezzo lights up with the white night of shopping

Shopping, music, fun and outdoor dining under a bright summer sky. Saturday 6th Julyon the occasion of first day of summer salesthe magic of. returns to Arezzo “Shopping Under the Stars” the shopping event has come to an end fifteenth edition thanks to the organization of Confcommercio of the provinces of Florence-Arezzo, the patronage of the Municipality of Arezzo and the contribution of Banca Popolare di Cortona.

With beyond 300 activities involvedthe historic center will be transformed into a large open-air festival with shops open until midnight, aperitifs, DJ sets, live music, group dancing, entertainment and dinners under the stars. The details of the evening were presented today (Thursday 27 June) during the press conference organized in the iconic venue House Museum of Ivan Bruschiin Corso Italia n°14.

The combination with art and culture, thanks to the collaboration of Casa Bruschi, is always a winning choice.”

“This year the summer sales will start at the same time on the first Saturday in July, both in Tuscany and in the surrounding regions – comment Catiuscia Feideputy director of Confcommercio Florence-Arezzo – will last sixty days as usual, but the first two weeks are the decisive ones for sales. With the Shopping under the stars format, which combines shopping with entertainment, we want to give a particular boost to the start, creating a festive atmosphere that will increase confidence and the desire to shop. We want to be cautious about spending forecasts, also considering the meteorological factor which often affects purchases, but there is optimism among operators”.

The “Shopping Under the Stars” program will begin from 8pm onwardswith the streets and squares of the historic center animated by a series of engaging events: in Piazza Sant’Agostinoat 10pm, the “Night of Colors” will see the launch of over 2000 balloons in time with music, thanks to the contribution of Conad and Tserve. The famous Enzo Scartoni will not be missing with his Music Show, which will entertain adults and children with an engaging musical selection.

Piazza San Jacopo instead it will host the “Latin Fiesta” of Salsa Na Mà: from 8.00pm to 12.00am, dance performances and performances by the school’s students will enliven the evening with sensual and overwhelming rhythms. In via Roma, in front of the Portici, the Dream Dance will offer group dances and dance shows for all ages.

Via Crispi and via Roma they will be closed to traffic to welcome the “dinners under the stars” organized by local restaurateurs. The outdoor tables will create a unique atmosphere for an evening of taste and relaxation under the Arezzo sky.

New this year is the collaboration between Confcommercio and Casa Museo Iva Bruschi, together to promote art and culture driven by shopping: those who make purchases in the shops in the center on the evening of 6 July will be able to present the receipt to the Ivan Bruschi House Museum in Corso Italia by 21 July to visit at the special cost of 1 euro the exhibition “The free way. Abstract and informal art in the Intesa Sanpaolo collections”. Arezzo people and tourists will thus be able to enjoy a thoughtful selection of thirty-four works which exemplify the diversified and multifaceted artistic experience carried out in Italy between the two wars. Painting, sculpture and other multi-material artistic declinations, from Lucio Fontana to Alberto Burri passing through Corrado Cagli, Emilio Widow, Gillo Dorfles, Bruno Munari and many other interpreters of a “freedom of manner”, in fact, which sounds like a tribute to Giorgio Vasari in the year of his celebrations.
