Corrado De Simone, who passed away on Saturday in Latina, would have turned 77 in a month. The lawyer, specialized for decades in the urban planning sector, was one of the symbols of the Pontine legal profession. The funeral will take place on Monday 17 June at 11 am in the church of San Luca.
The mayor Matilde Celentano issued a message of condolence on behalf of the entire municipal administration of Latina: «We express our condolences for the passing of Corrado De Simone, esteemed and appreciated administrative lawyer, profound expert of the city and always attentive participant in the growth and of the development of the city. Corrado De Simone was also an AN provincial councilor and never lacked his support, even critical, for the centre-right’s choices. His attentive gaze on political and social issues will be missed by the whole city. The mayor’s condolences to the family of Corrado De Simone.”
A long-experienced lawyer, De Simone has worn the robe since 1976, associating his name with dozens of “front page” trials. He recently dealt with the Q3 variant which allowed the construction of new shops in Via del Lido in Latina, but in the past he followed much more well-known cases such as that of the “Villaggio del Parco” in Sabaudia, the large subdivision that ended up in the sights of the Prosecutor’s Office of Latin. He also dealt with the “Grotta di Tiberio” hotel alongside the mayor of Sperlonga Armando Cusani, and also with the investigation into the “Latina Ambiente” company.
There is not only urban planning in his long activity, given that De Simone also dealt with the occupational diseases reported by the workers of the former Goodyear. With his daughter Chiara, recently elected to the council of the Bar Association, he founded the law firm “De Simone & De Simone” in Viale dello Statuto in Latina.
