Tragedy on Palermo-Sciacca. A road accident took the life of a man baby just 16 months old and one young man of 20 years. Another girl is hospitalized in serious condition. The accident occurred near Giacalone, just before five in the morning today, Sunday 23 June. According to initial findings by the police, the woman driving off the road, a 21-year-old, would have had a blood alcohol level higher than the limit permitted by law.
Fatal accident on the Palermo-Sciacca
The victims are Selma El Mouakit20 years old, and Abd Rahim Gharsallaha child of just 16 months.
Another girl, Miriam Janaleis hospitalized in serious condition in hospital.
The accident occurred near Giacalone. The victims and injured were traveling in a Fiat Punto.
The woman driving was drunk
According to the first investigations by the police, the woman driving, Chiara Irmana 21 years old, may have had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
There Palermo Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to establish with certainty the responsibilities and reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
Selma and Miriam, originally from Partinicothey had spent the night in Palermo and were returning home when the accident occurred.
To allow rescue and investigations by the police, the Palermo-Sciacca road remained closed to traffic for several hours.
