Treviso hosts Budo, the first martial arts gathering in the historic center

On Saturday 22 June in some of the main squares of the historic center of Treviso (Piazza Borsa, Piazza Aldo Moro and Piazza Battistero) the “zero date” of Budo, the first gathering of the associations, will take place from 9am to 12.30pm and from 3.30pm to 8pm. who in Treviso deal with various fighting sports disciplines (karate, judo, etc.). The same term “budo”, in Japanese, literally indicates the “way of martial arts”.

With the zero edition you will therefore be able to start discovering and experimenting with different sports disciplines. This lively occasion will allow you to get to know the nine associations, with their respective masters, who practice them and who have made the event possible. In particular, the activities of the Asd Judo Treviso, Polisportiva Santa Bona, Judo Sport Team Treviso and Treviso Karate will take place in Piazza Borsa. Piazza Aldo Moro will be animated by Asd Ren Bu Kan, China Town and Viet Vo Dao, while Piazza Battistero by Asd Dojo Treviso and Tao Te Chia. This first appointment will then take place on an annual basis and will be implemented with further initiatives and opportunities. On the one hand, in fact, there is a fervent desire to promote and make these ancient disciplines known to the public, and on the other, that of introducing more and more young people to these contact sports.

The comment

The deputy mayor of Treviso, Alessandro Manera, comments on the initiative as follows: «Treviso also boasts a great tradition in martial arts: in the city there are numerous realities that deserve to be valorised and which allow young people to express themselves on a daily basis, to emerge and stand out with high level results also at national and international level. The initiative to fill our squares with their activities arises from a common desire to make these realities known, taking them from the gyms to the most popular places in our city, with a view to promoting sport as well-being, discipline and values. I thank the sports clubs who joined the initiative with great enthusiasm, which will certainly be replicated and offered in other locations in the center and neighborhoods.”
