First tender for Turin Metro line 2 announced

(ANSA) – TURIN, JULY 2 – With a value of approximately 16 million euros, the first tender for Line 2 of the Turin metro has begun. The subject of the tender is the support activities for the extraordinary commissioner Bernardino Chiaia for the project management relating to the choice of the system and trains, the construction of the civil works of the Rebaudengo-Porta Nuova section and the option for the services for the subsequent Porta Nuova-Politecnico section.

Once the project manager consulting service has been defined, the commissioner and the Infra. To company will be able to call for the next tenders by 2025 for the choice of the signalling system and rolling stock and the construction of the civil works. “We’re off and running,” commented Mayor Stefano Lo Russo. “I’m happy that the Government Commissioner has received confirmation from the ministry that the remodelling of the section has been officially approved and this has allowed us to start with the first of the executive tenders for Metro 2. We are trying to speed up the execution of this infrastructure as much as possible, we have given ourselves a timetable,” concluded Lo Russo, “and we are respecting it. And with the times we live in and with Italian bureaucracy, it is far from a given.” (ANSA). .
