At the start of the summer season, with the increase in the tourist flow on the Apuan coast, the Massa Carrara Police Headquarters intensifies the control devices of the territory, to prevent and combat the phenomena of petty crime and crimes of a predatory nature, both in the city of Massa and along the coast, which disturb public peace and undermine the well-being and safety of people.
On the evening of June 19th, yet another “High Impact” extraordinary control service of the territory was carried out, decided within the Provincial Committee of Public Order and Security chaired by the Prefect Guido Aprea and ordered by the Police Commissioner Santi Allegra through a specific ordinance.
The service was carried out by police officers, by personnel from the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the Municipal Police, the Port Authority of Marina di Carrara and the Tuscany Crime Prevention Department of Florence.
In particular, controls have been intensified in the Marina areas, due to the increasing tourist flow, and in the area between Via Zini and Via Zolezzi in Marina di Massa, which has recently been affected by episodes of vandalism and drug dealing narcotics.
During the activity, the operators identified 111 people, of which 10 were subject to police prejudice, and checked 56 vehicles.
The constant presence of police forces in the area aims to increase the sense of security perceived by citizens, increasing the levels of prevention and combating widespread crime to guarantee conditions of civil and peaceful coexistence.
