The Trieste Basketball greets another of the great protagonists of the promotion in Serie A. It’s about Giovanni Vildera, the MVP of Game 4 of the Final, who after two seasons in Trieste leaves the city to test himself at another club. A championship for him, made up of very solid performances, strung together when the red and whites needed it most, with a decisive crescendo in the final matches. The General Manager announced Giovanni’s departure Michael Archerswho comments thus:
“On behalf of the Cotogna Sports Group, of all our team and staff, our fans and sponsors and the entire city of Trieste, I would like to express our deep gratitude to Giovanni for his extraordinary contribution to our club in these last seasons. Gio’s passion, skill, energy and desire to win accompanied us throughout this incredible championship. He was in many ways the inspirational leader of our team AND OUR CITY. Seeing him celebrated at midcourt after Game 4 of the Finals was an indelible moment for everyone who cares about this team. And most importantly, I would like to thank ‘The Lion’ on behalf of all the people, young and old, whose lives have been touched so wonderfully by his endless hours of volunteering and sharing of his time, talent and resources, the all without seeking notoriety or attention. Giovanni Vildera is what every professional athlete should aspire to be. We wish him enormous success always, especially in this new chapter of his career.”
