NEW CONSTRUCTION SITE

  1. VIA AQUILA UNDERPASS

Seismic adaptation and safety intervention necessary and awaited for years for which the municipality obtained 1 million and 250 thousand euros from the Ministry. the construction site started on Wednesday 12 May with the aim of constructing the upper part of the underpass, which is more complex to rearrange, in the summer months, with schools closed and traffic less intense. This is to limit the inconvenience for motorists and citizens in general.

  • VIA DON MINZONI UNDERPASS (EX. VIA ALBENSE)

Another intervention recipient of PNRR funds of 1 million and 95 thousand euros. The municipality has planned to have it started two weeks from the construction site in via Aquila. On the one hand, in fact, we want to try to avoid as much as possible dividing the city in two for a significant period (no less than 6 months of work is expected). On the other hand, however, the municipality must complete the work within the stringent and mandatory deadlines of the PNRR.

The start of the construction site of the historic unfinished building unblocked by the Di Pangrazio administration after 20 years of stagnation and problems is on the agenda in the first half of July. A project worth 6 million and 709 thousand euros of works, 8 million of economic framework (5 deriving from PNRR funds) for 6 floors and 192 workstations which must become, according to the administration’s projects, a symbol of redemption and urban regeneration for the entire Pulcina neighborhood. The 9300 square meter building will be totally redeveloped also thanks to the positive closure of the dispute that had dragged on for years with IRIM. A challenging job carried out by the city councilors and councilors which had a turning point thanks to the substantial funding intercepted by the administration through the PNRR channels (Mission 5, “Investments in urban regeneration projects”). To these resources, another two and a half million were added, made available by the Municipality itself and another 651 thousand euros obtained more recently for adjustments to market costs. The design idea aims to create a visual dialogue between the symbolic place of the city and the mountains that embrace the Avezzano area and which are reflected with their original skyline outside the building itself. The change of pace will be visible starting from the entrance, with a spacious hall consisting of a front office, a waiting room and three offices, plays of light on the walls, digitalisation of work spaces, energy efficiency measures (thermal coat, thermally insulated ventilated wall and 48 kW photovoltaic system on the roof), as well as eliminated architectural barriers. All for a work that will become central in the administrative life of citizens.

  • NEW NURSERY IN VIA FUCINO AND NURSERY IN VIA PERTINI

This also derives from PNRR funds (2 million and 640 thousand euros) intercepted by the municipality. It will be a cutting-edge and very important structure for local families. The historic elementary school that has given so much to the city and the population, even during the Covid emergency, becoming a real vaccination center, will be demolished and rebuilt. In its place, a nursery will be created capable of hosting 60 children.

The nursery school in via Pertini will host 120 children. Modern, spacious and bright, it will be built thanks to a loan of 3 million 500 thousand euros. The works will start in September in parallel with the construction site in via Fucino.

  • BERNARDO BEAR NURSERY

Historic structure in the center of the city which had been abandoned for years and which will return to host children thanks to a loan of one and a half million euros from PNRR funds. It will be a modern, bright structure, surrounded by a vast garden and made with materials with reduced environmental impact, capable of hosting 40 children.

  • VIA XX SETTEMBRE ROUNDABOUT – CARUSCINO DISTRICT ENTRANCE

A fundamental work to improve traffic on the city’s busiest artery and improve the entrance to the populous neighbourhood. The municipality has essentially reached an agreement with private individuals for the expropriations and decided to move the roundabout a few meters towards the city center to build it where the road section is flatter, with a lower slope and therefore lower costs. The start of the construction site is scheduled for August.
