“Summer Blooms – the theater goes out into the street” is underway, the summer season of the Siena Theaters curated by the artistic director Vincenzo Bocciarelli. Memory walk in Vicobello

The tenth edition of the Memory Walk in Vicobello will take place tomorrow afternoon which, together with the ANPI of Siena, the Historical Institute of the Sienese Resistance and the Contemporary Age, and numerous associations, we are organizing to remember 3 July 1944 which marked the liberation of Siena from Nazi-fascism and the three young men who fell on the city hill: Piero Cristofani, Giorgio Domenichini and Umberto Grazzini. It starts at 5pm in Piazza della Constitution in San Miniato and then begins the walk of memory which from the center of the neighborhood (passing through the Calamandrei promenade, via Ugo La Malfa and via di Vicobello) will reach the memorial stone commemorating the fallen young Sienese on 3 July 1944 on the Vicobello hill while chasing the Nazi troops fleeing towards Chianti. The walk will be accompanied by musical memories by the STUKA musical group. At 6.30 pm the walk will reach the memorial stone where greetings from the authorities and associations will be brought and where there will be a musical tribute from the “Banda Città del Palio”. Participants will then be able to return to Constitution Square where the memories will continue at the Third Age Center with re-enactments, poems and songs followed by a snack organized for the occasion. After the snack/dinner at 9pm in the hall of the parish of San Miniato ( piazza Togliatti) an unreleased film will be shown on the entry of the Allies into Siena on 3 July 1944. Following and at the end of the evening there will be the theater show “80 memoria. Stories of Sienese women between fascism and liberation” With Gaia Del Vecchio, Letizia Gattarelli, Vera Castellini. Directed by Francesco Burroni. All free entry.
