Pordenone, pretends to be ill and works at school for only 9 days in 3 years: reported together with 5 compliant doctors

A 40-year-old Calabrian school employee was reported by the Pordenone financial police for having served only 9 days in three years in three institutions in Friuli Venezia-Giulia, but received – thanks to false medical certificates, issued by 5 doctors compliant – over 40 thousand euros from the Ministry of Education. The police also ascertained that, while he was absent due to illness, the man worked – without authorization – as a broker in long-term car rental, moving around Italy and abroad.

The modus operandi

The 40-year-old’s modus operandi was always the same: after answering the Institute’s call, the man showed up at the secretariat and signed the employment contract. And after three days of service he returned to his home town in the province of Reggio Calabria to work as a vehicle rental company. Once he returned to his city, the school employee sent false medical certificates – issued by compliant professionals, reported by the financial police – which, in addition to allowing him to return to his home without having to undergo a tax visit, allowed him to receive the entire amount of salary.

The search

The Fiamme Gialle, on the orders of the Pordenone Prosecutor’s Office, searched his home. In addition to the documentation on the double job, the agents also seized 300 thousand euros in cash from the 40-year-old, believed to be proceeds from the activity actually carried out.
