Bologna transfer market – Benfica also on Gosens

One of Bologna’s main objectives at this stage of the transfer market seems to be Robin Gosens. The German could become the “master” of the left flank, given his tactical flexibility and his experience in Serie A. The rossoblù have already presented their first offer for the Union Berlin player, however they received a refusal. Giovanni Sartori would like to give Vincenzo Italiano a certainty for his squad, and for this reason he doesn’t give up. The Lodi manager will step forward again for the Teutonic wing in the next few hours.

Portuguese competition

However, in the last few hours, international competition seems to have increased on Gosens. After Lazio’s waning interest, Benfica seems to be stepping forward. The Portuguese team, which is also closing the purchase of Vangelis Pavlidis, would have started talks with the German team for Gosens. The Portuguese would be ready to take Gosens in this transfer market, perhaps on loan like Bologna themselves.

Union Berlin, however, would not want to risk finding Gosens again next summer as an unredeemed redundant and would also have asked Benfica for an obligation to buy. This is not a blitz, but an interest that certainly puts a hurry on Bologna who was preparing a new offer for the German.

Will Gosens prefer Sartori?

The hope for the rossoblù is that Robin Gosens can assert his possible preference for a new collaboration with Giovanni Sartori. If Benfica certainly has greater economic resources than Bologna at the same time with the same offer to Union Berlin and, with an effort, also to the player, the German might prefer a context where he already knows the manager responsible for the technical area perfectly.

Meanwhile, the rossoblù should now be close to presenting their second offer for Gosens. At Bologna, Union Berlin would have asked to increase the offer by a few million (from 7, to at least 9) and insert the obligation to buy.
