2,100 km route. The competitors will cross seven Italian regions and will counterclockwise, as in 2021, covering a total of 2,100 km. On the second day, once it has departed from the Savoy city, the convoy will descend towards the south over the Langhe and cross the center of Alba before heading towards Genoa, the 2024 European Capital of Sport and home to the first race lunch. After the break, the race will leave the Riviera di Levante behind and in the direction of Tyrrhenian coast will arrive in Viareggio, home of the arrival of the second day of the race.
The turning point in Rome. The descent towards Rome will characterize the third day of the Freccia Rossa, which will initially see a detour into the Tuscan hinterland with the passage from Lucca, to then return to the coast to Livorno and continue until the lunch stop in Castiglione della Pescaia. In the afternoon the passage from Grosseto, the entry into Lazio and the descent along Lake Bolsena before concluding the day with the classic parade in via Veneto. After the halfway point of the capital, on the fourth day the crews will go up to Orvieto before stopping for lunch in Solomeo, a characteristic medieval village nestled in the Umbrian hills, from where they will set off again towards Siena and Prato. Before reaching the final stage in Bologna, the crews will have to face the Futa and Raticosa passes. From Bologna, the last stage will meet Ferrara and Mantua, and again Lake Garda with Valtenesi and Salò before the classic walkway in Viale Venezia in Brescia.
