The eighth edition of the has just ended Bonsai Theatre Festival of Ferrara Off. An event characterized by a strong presence outside the walls of the theatre, which is located in viale Alfonso I d’Este 13, to enhance and give life to places and spaces of the city, through artistic performances coming from the theatrical panorama national.

A note from Ferrara Off highlighted that “with Festival Bonsai, more than nine different places were explored, in addition to the theater, which include both historical sites of the city and contemporary architecture. Over 2000 attendances were recorded, in 17 days of show, for a total of 30 performances. The contribution of artistic skills in the city was very high: 7 companies had the opportunity to develop their projects in artistic residency at Ferrara Off while 15 companies were present during the festival for a total of over 40 artists”.

The organizers have underlined that “also this year the Bonsai Festival confirms itself to be a fundamental event for the socio-cultural development of the city of Ferrara, bringing a further increase in artistic presences of great importance and which consolidate the territory as a competitive reality in the national theater panorama. Bonsai Festival was created thanks to the funds of the Fnsv of the Ministry of Culture, of the Emilia-Romagna Region with law 13/99 and of the Municipality of Ferrara”.

The activities have been developed in partnership with the University of Ferrara, the University Museum System, the University Theatre Centre, the Ferrara Municipal Theatre Foundation, the Ferrara Civic Museum of Natural History, the Ariosto State High School, the Imoletta Foundation, and the Pindoles Festival. For the first year, the Festival is twinned with ‘Parcoscenico’, which takes place in the Metropolitan City of Venice. The activities of the Ferrara Off theatre have been ongoing since 1 July with the ‘Futuro Anteriore’ tour.
