The Carabinieri of the central Livorno station tracked down and arrested a 49-year-old man from Livorno, in execution of a detention order issued by the general prosecutor’s office at the Court of Appeal of Florence.
The provision, as the Carabinieri explain in a note, resulted from a final conviction for a series of crimes against the person and property dating back to 2021, committed in Livorno.
It was August 2021, as stated in the note from the Carabinieri, when the lifeless body of an elderly man was found whose valuables kept in a safe had been stolen.
The Carabinieri of the Livorno Company, together with their colleagues from the Investigative Unit, began the investigations, also reconstructing the sale of some of the precious objects, providing the prosecution with elements that led to the arrest of the man.
I The judges of Florence, finding him guilty, sentenced him to 23 years and 6 months in prison.The Livorno military, delegated to carry out the order, took the 49-year-old away from his home where he was under house arrest and, after the formalities, they took him to the “Le Sughere” prison in Livorno, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
