BARI – It will be the first time for the new mayor of Bari. The ninth edition of «Mayors at the stove» returns on July 8 and will also see the participation of Vito Leccese.
In the most original cooking competition in Italy, it is not the chefs who will compete with pots, pans and spoons but the mayors of Puglia and other Italian regions who will meet in Bisceglie where the “Mediterranean” amphitheater for the occasion , it will become a large open-air kitchen.
Ten mayors, divided into teams, will give life to an original and exciting cooking competition under the supervision of important chefs from all over Puglia. In half an hour they will have the task of preparing a dish using only the ingredients provided by the organization, following the suggestions of the chef tutors paired with them.
Among the protagonists of the 2024 edition there will be the new mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese. With him also the owner of the house, the mayor of Bisceglie Angelantonio Angarano, and then, as per tradition, also first citizens from outside the region, such as the mayor of Casacalenda, Sabrina Lallitto.
Accompanying the mayors during the race was a “dream team” of chefs, including the starred Domingo Schingaro of the restaurant «Due Camini» in Borgo Egnazia – Savelletri di Fasano and Pietro Zito of «Antichi Sapori».
