In recent days, a 17-year-old minor of Albanian origin was arrested by the Carabinieri of Riva del Garda. The young man, who had been resident in Val Rendena for some time, had a prison order pending and a sentence of one year and four months in prison for drug dealing.

The arrest, the result of intense investigative activity, closed a problematic chapter for the local community. The young man had been caught near the Trento bus station with a large quantity of drugs. The officers, after monitoring his movements and suspicious behavior, decided to intervene, finding several doses of narcotics ready for dealing in his possession. The affair led to the final conviction of the young man, whose request for alternative measures was rejected by the judge. The decision of the Trento juvenile court was dictated by the repeated reports and illegal acts committed by the boy, who had continued to commit crimes despite being under investigation. In fact, in recent months, the 17-year-old’s behavior had caused concern among the residents of Val Rendena. In addition to drug dealing, the boy had been repeatedly involved in episodes of bullying and threats against his peers.

After his arrest, the young man was transferred to the juvenile detention center in Treviso, but the investigation is still ongoing. The Carabinieri are in fact investigating the 17-year-old’s connections with two or three other peers, who could be involved in similar illicit activities.
