Every Alto Molise municipality is looking for a new and exclusive tourist attraction, a novelty for thesummer 2024a new decoration for the country that makes people smile and appreciate the good will of citizens who try to give more sympathy and decorum to their native places.
Here are the “babaci” Of Poggio Sannitathe large rag dolls that describe the domestic life of the people of Poggio in every corner of the country and now a Belmonte del Sannio the novelty of transforming old or disused bicycles into splendid planters. The two wheels have been repainted and enriched with flower baskets and ornamental plants, giving a touch of color and summer scent to the Alto Molise town centre.
From what we know, the idea came to Sandrathe town’s hairdresser, who put the first flower bicycle right near his business commercial. An idea immediately taken up by several residents who are competing to create the most decorated bike of summer 2024. And to date there are around seventy cycles that decorate the different corners, clearings or small squares of Belmonte del Sannio.
A healthy competition between villagers but without jealousy or envy, so much so that everyone tries to contribute to the preparation of each new cycle which will find space in corners perhaps outside the usual walk precisely to give new value to the lesser-known alleys and streets of their town.
This initiative has spread on social media and is shared by many people from Belmonte who live outside the center or who have emigrated to other parts of the world.
However, a new idea to be seen and appreciated. Applause to the villagers of Belmonte who are increasingly managing to captivate the curiosity of many people who now go to the Alto Molise town to appreciate the floral novelty and also to see how they managed to give new life to bicycles that were “old iron” which only occupied spaces in local basements and garages and perhaps destined for waste disposal.
