Work on via Battisti in Udine.

On the afternoon of Monday 3 June, the table that the administration wanted to establish with the residents and traders of via Battisti, Canciani and Poscolle alta, to discuss and update on the work in progress on via Battisti. Regarding the intervention on the street that connects Piazza XX Settembre to Piazza Garibaldi there are important news. Via Battisti will see an overall shorter construction site with less inconvenience for traders, residents and all road users.

As communicated today during the technical meeting in which the representatives of the administration and the heads of the traffic office were present, as well as the traders of the street and a person in charge of the company that will carry out the works, the Municipality of Udine has decided to proceed immediately with the installation of the final surface which will later host the new porphyry, without going through the intermediate period with provisional surface which would have guaranteed the settlement of the land after the excavations and interventions by CAFC.

L’heavy rain fell on the municipal territory in the month of May has in fact allowed the coverage of the excavations stabilized before the scheduled times and thus allow the installation of the final screed. On this surface sthe porphyry will then be laid, concluding the work on the road. The advantages of this new plan are several: lo definitive drainage layer it will give the street a better appearance than previously expected, and at the same time the road will be more passable, with a more homogeneous and safe road surface.

Also overall construction times will be shorter, since the dismantling of the temporary fund which would have served to stabilize the ground over the course of these months is no longer planned. The last advantage is of an environmental nature, since it will no longer be necessary to demolish a concrete layersignificantly reducing the amount of dust, noise and material to be disposed of.

In the next few weeks – the works they will last approximately 14 more daysbarring complications due to the weather – the company in charge will take care of it installation of the surface layer permanent. Subsequently, once the intervention has been completed, the road will be open to traffic again permitted (via Battisti is regulated by ZTL).

For the last intervention, that is laying the porphyry which will restore the street to its original form definitively, the orientation that emerged during the meeting is to complete the work starting from the third week of September, after the Friuli Doc and the transit of vehicles responsible for setting up, organizing and supplying the stands of the event. In July the administration will convene the table again for the latest updates on the definitive timetable.
