Deaths at work, Verona is the black spot in the white zone of Veneto: it is among the provinces that are currently in the yellow zone. This is as far as the incidence of mortality at work is concerned, but it is not alone. With Verona also Belluno and Venice. At the end of May 2024, the risk of fatal accident in Veneto (6.3 deaths per million employed) is almost the half of the national averageodds of 12.1, the lowest of the Peninsula.
Belluno, Venice and Verona are in the yellow zone with a mortality rate of 11.1, 10.7 and 9.2 respectively. Padua (6.9), Vicenza (2.6), Treviso (2.5) and Rovigo (0.0) are in the white zone.

In the first five months of 2024, 19 deaths were recorded, compared to 33 in the same period of 2023. Of the victims, 14 lost their lives at work and 5 while commuting. Verona leads the rankings regional by total number of victims with 7 cases, followed by Padua (5), Venice (4), Belluno, Treviso and Vicenza (1). Victims at work in Verona and Venice were 43 in Padua, and one each in Belluno, Treviso and Vicenza. Rovigo has not recorded any victims at work.
The total injury reports were 30,001representing approximately 11.9% of complaints at national level. end of May 2024, total injury reports increased by 1.5% compared to May 2023, but the growth is lower than the national average of 2.1%.

The manufacturing sector is the hardest hit, with 5,374 reports. Followed by Construction (1,717). Trade (1,594), Transport and Warehousing (1,427) and Healthcare (1,293). Vicenza is the province with the highest number of total injury reports (5.772), followed by Verona (5,722). Padua (5,640), Treviso (5,604). Venice (5,042), Belluno (1,306) and Rovigo (915).

Total injury reports of working women are 10,211, while those of men are 19,790. There were 7,959 complaints from female workers at workwhile those of workers 17,347. The reports of foreign workers are 7,366of which 6,116 were on the occasion of work.
