Royal Palace of Caserta: a worker dies during the dismantling of an event

Caserta. A tragic event occurred yesterday at the Royal Palace of Caserta, where a 49-year-old worker lost his life while dismantling the set-up for an event connected to the Campania Beer Expo.

The man, employed by an external company, was descending the Grand Staircase of the Palace when he suddenly collapsed in front of a colleague. Help arrived promptly, but there was nothing that could be done for the 49-year-old.

The news has deeply shocked the community and the organizers of the Campania Beer Expo, which opened just yesterday in the Flora gardens of the Reggia in the presence of regional councilor Antonio Marchiello.

A post of condolences for the deceased worker was published on the official Facebook page of the event: “We have learned with sorrow that a worker from an external company, engaged in the dismantling of a conference related to the Campania Beer Expo, has died due to illness. We join in the family’s grief at this sad moment.”

The cause of death is still being ascertained, but it is presumed that the man was struck down by a sudden illness.

Yesterday’s tragedy has brought the spotlight back on workplace safety and the importance of ensuring adequate prevention measures. The competent authorities have begun investigations to shed light on what happened and to ascertain any responsibilities.

Condolences for the loss of the worker are combined with the hope that similar tragedies will never happen again.
