Benacquista Assicurazioni Latina Basket is preparing to face the first of two consecutive home matches scheduled. On Sunday 19 May, the Nerazzurri will welcome Luiss Roma to the parquet of the Palasport in Cisterna di Latina. Tap-off at 6pm to play day 5 of the Salvation Phase.
It is the third time that the two teams have competed against each other during the season and the result is one victory for each side, with both victories achieved away from home (76-86 in Rome, 88-94 in Ferentino). It is, however, the first time that the teams compete on the pitch of Cisterna di Latina, where the Pontini team only started playing last March.
Luiss has 20 points in the standings in the Salvation Group (with a match to make up against Chiusi) and is still in the running to stay in Serie A2. Latina, anchored at 16 points in last position, is currently kept in the race by the formula which, in the event of a tied finish in second position, would consider the general basket quotient.
Net of calculations and hypotheses, what the Nerazzurri will continue to do will be to take the field with pride, dignity and the desire to honor the championship until the end.

Luiss is an opponent that we have already met in the regular season, but which has slowly changed its face. He has included two foreigners of different caliber, Cain is a big man with great experience in Serie A, who has played in important leagues and who has added substance and quality to the roster. We know Sabin well, already in the return match he showed us what he is capable of, as well as in the recent match against Agrigento. We will have to be good at containing their main offensive player with good team play, helping each other, as we did in Nardò with Smith.”
