SAN SALVO. Following the Ordinance of the President of the Regional Council n. 01/APC of 12 June 2024 with which the state of maximum danger for forest fires from 15 June to 15 October 2024, the mayor Emanuela De Nicolis issued an ordinance (here is the full text) with which in order to avoid the development of interface fires, during the period of serious fire danger, from June 18 TO October 15, 2024 Yes prohibits Of:

− light and burn residues of plant material deriving from agricultural and forestry activities;

− light fires of all kinds;

− detonate mines or use explosives;

− use flame or electric tools to cut metals;

− use engines (with the exception of those used to carry out authorized forestry work and not in conflict with the PPMPF and other regulations in force), stoves or incinerators that produce sparks or embers;

− keep kilns, wood-fired ovens and uncontrolled public and private landfills in operation;

− smoking, throwing matches, cigars or lit cigarettes and carrying out any other operation that could create an immediate or intermediate risk of fire;

− carry out pyrotechnic activities, light fireworks, launch rockets of any type and/or paper hot air balloons, better known as flying lanterns equipped with open flames, as well as other pyrotechnic articles, unless specifically authorized;

− transit and/or park vehicles on non-asphalted roads within wooded areas, with the exception of service vehicles and agro-forestry-pastoral activities in compliance with the rules and regulations in force;

− travel with motorized vehicles off state, provincial, municipal, private and local roads, burdened by public transit services, with the exception of service vehicles and agro-forestry-pastoral activities in compliance with the rules and regulations in force;

− abandon waste in the woods and in illegal landfills;

− any other operation that could create a mediate or immediate fire hazard;

The owners, tenants and tenants, in any capacity, of uncultivated land, in a state of abandonment or at rest, in the municipal territory are subject to an absolute ban on burning spontaneous vegetation. The latter also have the obligation to carry out cleaning operations, at their own expense and at their own expense, of the land invaded by vegetation, by removing any element or condition that may represent a danger to public safety and hygiene, in in particular by periodically providing:

– maintenance by mowing weeds and removing waste, in order to prevent conditions that increase the risk of fires and prevent the proliferation of animals dangerous to public health and hygiene (rats, reptiles, etc.)

– the regular pruning of hedges on their land that cause narrowing, invasions or limitations of visibility and transit on the road and neighboring private properties, hiding the signs and limiting visibility, narrowing or damaging the roads, decreasing or preventing lighting of the roads and threaten the integrity of the light centres, hide the signs or limit their readability, or interfere in any way with the correct usability and functionality of the roads;

– the maintenance of trees rooted on their land, which extend beyond the state border and/or private property;

– the immediate removal of trees, branches and soil if they fall onto the road due to bad weather or any other cause;

– pruning trees that can cause damage and interruptions to electricity and telephone lines;

– the conservation of buildings and walls of any kind, so as not to compromise public safety and not cause damage to the streets;

– to adopt all precautions and measures to avoid any damage and/or danger to public and private safety in relation to tall trees rooted on their land.
