Parma – Al “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory, the ninth edition of the project dedicated to the development of the ear in musical training, conceived by prof. Fabio Ferrucci, twice winner of the MIUR Leonardo da Vinci Prize.

Since 2015, the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory of Music in Parma has become a place of meeting, discussion and exchange of ideas for experts from all over Europe in the field of ear development thanks to “Let’s meet in Parma”International workshop dedicated to eartraining.

The ninth edition of the initiative will take place from 17 to 20 April in the Auditorium del Carmine of the Parma Conservatory, financed as always with funds from the Erasmus+ programme.

The lessons, free and open to all interested parties, will be entrusted to twelve teachers from the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Norway and Sweden who will delve into various methodologies applicable to eartraining, a subject of crucial importance for musical training

The program of the four days of work includes lessons aimed at different groups of students of the Conservatory (starting from the preparatory courses up to the Academic Courses of the two-year period), but which will also involve the public present.

Conceived and coordinated by Prof. Fabio Ferrucci, winner of the Miur’s Leonardo da Vinci Award for two years, the project involved over 160 teachers from 25 nations over the first eight editions: a unicum in the European panorama, selected by the Agency national INDIRE for its value in terms of valorisation of the European cultural heritage.

From this experience was also born, at the Conservatory of Parma, the first annual Master of “Specialization in Theory, Rhythm and Musical Perception – Ear Training” which makes use of teachers coming from the same circuit, the only path of its kind in Italy and one of the few in Europe aimed at training future teachers in the sector.

These are the teachers of the ninth edition of “Sentiamoci a Parma”: Erik Albjerg (Royal Conservatoire – The Hague), Per Bundgård (The Royal Danish Academy of Music – Copenhagen), Kaja Daugaard Christensen (The Royal Academy of Music – Aarhus), Eduardo Díaz Lobatón (Real Conservatorio Superior De Música – Madrid), Erik Højsgaard (The Royal Danish Academy of Music – Copenhagen), Inkeri Jaakkola (The University of The Arts – Helsinki), Sofia Martinez Villar (Escola Superior De Música De Catalunya – Barcelona ), Maria Medby Tollefsen (Arctic University of Norway – Tromsø), Klara Rylander (Univeristy Of The Arts – Stockholm), Synnøve Sætre (Norwegian Academy of Music – Oslo), Gro Shetelig (Professor Emeritus Norwegian Academy of Music – Oslo), Mari Skogli (Institutt For Musikk – Kristiania – Oslo).

“Sentiamoci a Parma” is free and open to all interested parties. The lessons will take place in English or Italian and will be translated for the audience present. .
