L‘Union Riviera Rugby and theImperia Rugbytogether with several schools in the province of Imperia have established a solid partnership to promote youth sports development.

This synergy, consolidated over the years, has led to the active involvement of local clubs and educational institutions in encouraging the practice of rugby among young people and providing them with growth and training opportunities.

Recruitment and development activities, jointly managed by the two companies and the schools, are supported by a technical team highly specialized. These professionals, most of whom have degrees in sports science and trained through courses FIR (Italian Rugby Federation), plan and implement targeted interventions, both theoretical and practical.

The coordination of these initiatives is entrusted to the person responsible for development and participation for the Liguria region Italian Rugby Federation Massimo Zorniotti. Thanks to the commitment and collaboration between the various parties involved, theschool year 2023/2024 has seen a number of hit shows.

In particular, the project “Ruffini” continued his collaboration with the IIS Ruffini of Imperia, offering theoretical and practical lessons for different classes. The third classes have started a PCTO path (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) which will lead the children to obtain a 1st level technician title of the Italian Rugby Federation and referee membership. The young people of Ruffini they also distinguished themselves in a student championship by winning silver, accompanied by the teacher Federica Sibilla.

Another important result was the project “Albenga”, which saw the creation of a school sports club in collaboration with lLeca Secondary Institute of Albengainvolving beyond 250 kidsextending into the “Sports afternoons” a group of 35 kids. The latter will participate in the CONI National Tournament in Catania in September 2024.

Of impact it is remembered “Junior Active School“, which led to series of meetings with middle schools in numerous locations, involving around 500 children from middle school in the project “SPORT AND HEALTH”.

Finally, the project “At School with Rugby”: three classes from the Imperia via Gibelli primary school participated in days of school and sporting activities at the Camp Pino Valleoffering a unique rugby experience to both pupils and teachers.

The success of these initiatives is certainly the result of the dedicated work of the technicians involved, including Alessandro Ardoino, Alice Mori, Riccardo Nunziata, Marco Trucco And Francesco Borcaunder the guidance of Zorniotti.

This collaboration demonstrates the value of sport as an educational and training tool for young people, offering them growth opportunities both on the field and in life.
