The PNRR control room took place at Palazzo Chigi, convened and chaired by the Minister for European Affairs, the South, cohesion policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fitto, in the presence of the competent Ministers and Undersecretaries, of the ANCI, of the ‘UPI and the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.

Among the items on the agenda are the financial coverage of all the interventions envisaged under the Integrated Urban Plans (PUI), the technical revision of the PNRR recently approved by the European Commission and, finally, the verification of the 37 objectives included in the sixth installment of the new Italian Plan, equal to 8.5 billion euros.

During the meeting, Minister Fitto illustrated the results of the investigation conducted in light of the provisions contained in legislative decree no. 19/2024 and relating to Integrated Urban Plans. The rule ensured total financial coverage of all interventions, distinguishing between those covered with PNRR funds, to be allocated to projects in line with the conditionalities of the Plan as communicated by the metropolitan cities and those covered through the use of national funds for the other works planned under the measure.

The Meloni Government’s commitment remains focused on the implementation of interventions, aimed at returning urban spaces redeveloped for social, cultural and economic activities to the community, always maintaining high attention on environmental protection and people’s quality of life.
Regarding the technical revision of the new Italian PNRR, presented last March 4 and relating to formal changes aimed at simplifying and facilitating the process for reporting the objectives, Minister Fitto agreed with the definitive adoption of the revision by the Council of European Union, which took place last May 14th.

The last item on the agenda is the discussion regarding the state of implementation of the measures aimed at achieving the 37 objectives and goals connected to the sixth instalment, which include important investments linked to the creation of infrastructures and services for citizens and numerous reforms, including the measure aimed at reducing payment delays by public administrations and health authorities, interventions in the field of public procurement, the framework law dedicated to people with disabilities and, finally, the measures in favor of non-self-sufficient elderly people.

“Today’s control room – states Minister Fitto – confirms Italy’s alignment with the European roadmap of the PNRR. With the start of the reporting of the objectives of the sixth instalment, the Government continues incessantly in the implementation of the National Plan of recovery and resilience. Facts confirmed, among other things, by the positive report of the last few days by the Court of Auditors on the implementation of the new Plan and by the medium-term evaluation of the European Commission, which sees Italy in first place for objectives achieved and financial advancement”.
