Also known as Castillo de los Velasco, it was an important center around the villages of the Mena Valley (Burgos) from the mid-13th to the 15th century. Its construction began in 1397 and, due to the continuous fighting between Muslims and Christians at the time, the construction took on an offensive profile. Completely renovated in 1850, it was further updated at the end of the last century. Now this castle with a military tower located near Burgos, Spain, is for sale on idealista for 1.59 million euros

Its history takes shape when the Velasco family gained power over the entire territory of northern Burgos and became owners of the tower in the 15th century.

The upper floor has a beautiful terrace which allows you to overlook the wall and the drawbridge, currently repaired, but retaining all its character. Furthermore, it connects the keep with the east tower.

On the first floor we find a large living room with two fireplaces and high ceilings, a separate kitchen and a guest bathroom. Going up the stairs we find a mezzanine, with a lovely sitting area and library overlooking the living room below, a bedroom with a very particular design and a bathroom.

On the fourth floor there is a beautiful master suite, with a carved wooden entrance door, two windows with stone table and chairs, fireplace, Jacuzzi next to the bed, bathroom and dressing room.

This floor also features a second bedroom, with bathroom, fireplace and mezzanine. On the upper floor the staircase leads to a large living room, and to two other bedrooms with respective bathrooms.

Outside, between the wall and the tower, a heated swimming pool has been set up

In total the land has 25,000 m2. The castle is declared an asset of cultural interest and could not be located in a better area than the Mena Valley, characterized by its mountainous landscape, its forests and its rivers.
