It was presented yesterday in the auditorium of Palazzo Silone in L’Aquila the Giro d’Abruzzo. The cycling race, which returns to our region after seventeen yearswill take the away on the 9th April to end four days later.
There are always four stages planned over 9500 meters of total altitude difference they will represent a more than convincing test for the athletes in view of the Giro d’Italia.
Abruzzo therefore confirms itself as a land of cycling after the Big Start of the Corsa Rosa which last year started from the Costa dei Trabocchi.
“As soon as news arrived that there was the possibility of hosting a stage race entirely in Abruzzo, we opened the doors to RCS Sport to perfect the organization – underlines the governor Marsilio.
We are excited because there will be four exciting stages that will serve to promote the beauties of our region:this is the main opportunity for visibility that the territory can have to make itself known to tens of millions of fans around the world.”

There has been a symbiosis with the Region for some years now and this season we added two pieces: the Giro d’Abruzzo and the Giro d’Italia Women in July”.
We will start from stage 1, Vasto-Pescara of 161 km: stage 2, with the same length, will take the caravan from Alanno in Magliano de’ Marsiwhile the following day there will be Pratola Peligna-Prati di Tivo of 163 km before the big closure, offered by Montorio al Vomano-L’Aquila of 169 km.
