Latina – The Pontine Local Health Authority is the first in Italy to have gender equality certification

The Latina ASL is the first healthcare company in Italy to receive gender equality certification. This was made known by ‘Certifica’, the body identified in the register of gender certification bodies.
The local health company of Latina – we remind you – can boast four hospitals (San-ta Maria Goretti of Latina, Alfredo Fiorini of Terracina, San Giovanni di Dio of Fondi and Dono Svizzero of Formia) and five districts, in which the 66 percent women. Furthermore, women make up 51 percent of the managers of the Pontine ASL.
According to governor Rocca, “The regional health service boasts a notable representation of managers in the top management of health companies, but women are numerically double among the professionals in the sector and are committed daily to guaranteeing the quality of healthcare. We can therefore only welcome with satisfaction – he adds – yet another recognition for the local health company of Latina, the first in Italy on gender equality”.
The extraordinary commissioner of the Local Health Authority of Latina, Sabrina Cenciarelli, said she was proud of the recognition: “an achievement – she said – the result of a long journey undertaken by the General, Health and Administrative Directorate. We will continue to strengthen policies against all gender violence – she concluded – promoting inclusion and equal corporate opportunities”.
