Another very serious episode of petty crime took place yesterday afternoon in the center of Modena, in via Badia, a side street of via Emilia. It was around 5.30pm when a 19-year-old Italian riding his bicycle was suddenly attacked and hit in the chest, presumably with a knife. It is hypothesized that the motive may have been the theft of the bike, which however, despite the injury suffered, the young man managed to defend, forcing the criminal to flee. The same 19-year-old who managed to contact the Local Police officers present at the fixed “Punto città Sicurezza” station in Piazza Matteotti called for attention and asked for help. They were the ones who rescued him first and alerted 118, as well as immediately starting investigations to identify the attacker. The young victim of the stabbing is in shock and so far has not been able to report useful details, those that could be imprinted in the images of the possible video surveillance cameras installed in via Badia. The young man was transported to Baggiovara Hospital under yellow code, therefore with medium serious injuries. His life would therefore not be in danger
