Hot hours in the Municipality. Tomorrow the opening of the envelopes of the tender

Days pass and time becomes less and less of Ancona’s ally: the key date is tomorrow, when the Municipality will examine the applications received via certified e-mail from the groups interested in guaranteeing the supernumerary registration of the new club in the next Serie D championship As we wrote yesterday in these columns, there are eight business groups that have expressed their interest: two from Milan, two from Rome and the remaining from the Marche region. One of these has expressed his desire to enroll the team in the Eccellenza championship, but since the municipal administration wants to try to do everything possible to guarantee the Dorians the possibility of participating in the fourth series, that will be the last proposal that will be examined if the others do not satisfy the council. It should be noted that these are simply expressions of interest, not participation in the tender. These groups have had talks in recent days with the mayor Daniele Silvetti, but to date it is not yet known whether they have actually taken part in the tender. From Palazzo del Popolo, they prefer not to say too much: in such a delicate phase, yet another for Ancona football, they choose to maintain the strictest confidentiality on these events. All that remains is to wait until 9am on Monday, when the applications received will be examined: but there is optimism from the municipal administration that the tender will not be abandoned.

Not even the withdrawal of Guglielmo Manzo, sole director of Arezzo and owner of New Energy Gas e Luce (who categorically denied his interest) seems to be frightening: the Tuscan group has flatly denied having ever shown any interest to Ancona. Therefore, there is no plan B for the municipal administration, demonstrating the confidence that the Silvetti administration has in the fact that there could be a significant interest in participating in the tender. If, as everyone hopes, good news were to arrive on Monday, the successful bidder knows perfectly well that he will be engaged in a race against time to be able to register Ancona in Serie D: in fact, the payment of 400 thousand euros must be completed by July 4, or 135 thousand if the decision is made to register the team in Eccellenza, and the eventual winner knows that he will be shouldering a huge responsibility. All this while Francesco Agnello, the new owner of Us Ancona (or what remains of it), seems firmly convinced in moving forward on his own path, reiterating his desire to appeal against the Football Federation on the club’s registration number (an appeal destined to inevitably end with nothing being done). But those are matters that no longer concern the Municipality and those who truly care about the fate of Ancona football. In short, the affair takes on the contours of a climb up Everest, but it is right to place our trust in the work of the council, which, faced with the inertia and silence of the old ownership, has done everything possible to save what can be saved. In all this, the great heritage of the youth system that Us Ancona had looked after and had produced must also be saved: the Primavera had been promoted, the Under 17 had reached the final. From the biggest to the smallest, all proud to wear the red and white jersey. So, see you tomorrow morning, yet another crucial day for the football movement in the capital: with the hope that the miracle really happens.
