A 51-year-old man from Syracuse lost his life in a car accident that occurred this morning on the Traversa San Tommaso, on the northern outskirts of Syracuse.
The fight
According to an initial reconstruction, being examined by the municipal police, a motorcycle and a car were involved in the impact: the victim was riding the motorcycle and died shortly after the collision.
The investigation for road homicide
The vehicles were seized and the Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation for road homicide. The first investigations have been launched at the scene of the fatal accident, in order to establish responsibilities.
The accident on Highway 124
Last Saturday, on State Road 124, near the southern Syracuse junction, a motorcyclist was hit by a car. The man was transported to the emergency room of the Umberto I hospital in Syracuse: his condition improved over the following hours, in fact he was not in any danger to his life.
Dead couple in the Ragusa area
A accident road accident which occurred during the night between Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 on the Ragusa-Modica state road ended the lives of two well-known musicians from Ragusa, Giovanni Cascone and Angela Polizzi, both with long experience in the world of music. The couple, returning from an evening spent in the historic center of Scicli, where the musical part of the art day was held, collided with a Renault Clio driven by a 28-year-old young woman from Modica. The impact, which occurred near the Costanzo bridge, was fatal for the two motorcyclists. The driver of the Clio, hospitalized under code red at the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Ragusa, was injured in the accident.
Who were the two victims
Giovanni Cascone, 56 years old, was a musician very talented, known in the city for his performances with the trombone, both as a soloist and in a group. Angela Polizzi, 53 years old and originally from Ramacca, was a music teacher in Comiso and a passionate musician. The couple, owners of a musical instrument shop in Ragusa, were highly regarded for their expertise and passion in the world of music.
