UNTIL A FEW YEARS ago it would have been a dream. Now, however, digital innovation and culture, together, allow us to overcome borders. This is what Borderless Wirless Go! aims to do! 2025, the new digital dimension of cross-border culture. In fact, Go!2025 was born, the first cross-border digital platform of the European Capital of Culture. The project is very ambitious not only because it allows us to jointly enhance the European territory of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, in Italy and Slovenia, confirmed as capitals of culture 2025, but because it makes the most of technological innovation. GO!2025 is in fact conceived as a large territory that includes all of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the regions of the Slovenian border, from Collio-Brda to the Slovenian Karst, from the Vipacco Idria valley to the entire Isonzo valley.
The platform unites and offers services. As the director of Go!2025, Gorazd Božic (in the photo below), explains, “all the cities involved are united by a contagious energy which, at the same time, is pervaded by a sense of pride and responsibility”. The project is also important for Italy, as underlined by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano: “The citizens of Nova Gorica in Slovenia, and of Gorizia in Italy, have been able to overcome resentments and divisions and have decided to rebuild their future together , becoming a model and symbol for Europe”. The highly performing platform is already fully operational, and will allow tourists and visitors, in just a few clicks and in 3 languages - Italian, Slovenian and English – to identify the art, culture and entertainment proposals, projects and events underway in the chosen visit period. Borderless Wireless Platform Go! 2025 starts with the reporting of 350 points of interest, over 1800 accommodation proposals and 350 shared events: data that will be implemented over time. Thanks to the implementations made, users can also plan their experiences directly on the platform, choosing the events and activities that interest them most. Borderless Wireless Go! 2025 will be long-lasting, as will the management body, Gect Go. With the support of a dedicated team and the active involvement of local communities, in fact the platform intends to become a tool for tourism and cross-border culture, but also a model virtuoso of digital valorization of the territory without borders.
