One more car accident, another drama. The officers of the department Road Accidents from the local police of Naples intervened in via delle Repubblica Maritime where a serious incident occurred involving a motorbike and a car, driven respectively by a 44 year old man and a 51 year old, both Neapolitans from the Barra neighborhood.
The one who paid the most was the 44 year old centaurwho after being admitted to hospital underwent a delicate surgical operation at the end of which it became necessary toamputation of a leg.
The impact
The accident occurred just before eight on Friday evening. According to an initial reconstruction of the dynamics, carried out by the Municipality, it is assumed that the motorbike was traveling via delle Repubblica Maritime in the direction of via Ferrante Learned. At the crossroads with via Sesto Fiorentino the motorbike collided with the car coming from its right and, following the strong impact, was thrown onto the opposite road. A very violent blow.
Due to his injuries, the 44-year-old was transported toSea hospital where he underwent a long and delicate process surgery. No chance of saving his right limb. At the moment the prognosis remains reserved. The agents of the Road Accident Department ordered the seizure of both vehicles for further investigations and had the drivers subjected to toxicological tests.

The latter case ends up strengthening the figures from the black book who tell of a long trail of blood left behind streets of Naples and its hinterland from road accidents and pedestrian collisions.

Only two days ago a tragedy was almost reached after a small car in which two people were traveling crashed into a pillar of the ring road, at the end of the downhill ramp of the Malta course: for the occupants only bruises, but even in this case the toll could have been very heavy. A few hours earlier two scooters had collided around 8.45am a few meters from the Naples Police Headquarters, in the central Medina street. A centaur remained on the ground for several dozen minutes waiting for the arrival of the 118 ambulance which took him to the nearest emergency room: in this case too only minor injuries.
Tragedy a Escapehowever, the one that occurred on May 30, when every attempt to resuscitate a boy from 16 years involved in a very violent collision. The minor, while riding a Honda sh125 motorcycle via Rome towards Scampia, in the direction of Melito di Naples, reached a petrol station and hit a Fiat Panda that was in front of him; following the impact, the motorcycle swerved into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Ford Ka. Following the second impact the boy lost his life.
The interventions
Last Tuesday, meanwhile, the installation of raised crossings (which also act as speed deterrents) in some particularly critical city streets. The first two were made in via Terracina while, but similar interventions are already planned in Bagnoli via Cattolica (the scene of another recent tragedy in which a young woman lost her life) and, subsequently, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Corso Malta.
