Yesterday, 6 June, a child of almost five years old had a protected meeting with his mother, in Aosta: the little boy, a Gambian citizen like his mother, had in fact been entrusted to his maternal uncles in April 2023, but was able to meet his mother from which it had been stolen. Since that appointment, however, he has never returned: traces of him seem to have been lost, as have those of the woman. The two did not show up for the meeting with the uncles, scheduled to bring the child back to them. And they may already have moved away from the Aosta Valley, with the aim of going abroad. Police searches coordinated by the Aosta prosecutor’s office are underway.
“Yesterday a protected visit was organized with the mother and the accompaniment of an educator,” the child’s aunt, sister-in-law of the missing woman, told ANSA. “We went to the appointment at 11.30 in the morning, in the center of Aosta, where she lives, and we took him.” The child’s relatives then returned to pick him up after three hours, as agreed for the meeting: «We returned at 2.30 pm, but the mother never arrived. During the meeting, the educator left, came back at the end but they were no longer there.”
