Robbed and stripped of his precious Rolex just purchased from a jewelry store, thus suffering a significant loss, considering the value of the watch, estimated at around 13 thousand euros.
This unpleasant episode was orchestrated by a couple of criminals who tricked him into a trap, exploiting the well-known tactic of the mirror scam.
The neighborhood chosen for the criminal action was the renowned Roma Bene neighborhood, the Parioli, famous for its wealth and prestige. The crime scene took place around 4pm yesterday, Wednesday 15 May 2024, precisely in via Panama.
The victim, a 72-year-old elderly motorist, he was behind the wheel of his car when he was targeted by the attackers.
The modus operandi has been studied: a scooter driver deliberately damaged the car mirror with his scooter, causing a noise that attracted the elderly man’s attention. The latter, having fallen into the trap, stopped to assess the damage suffered.
However, before he could realize what was happening, he was approached by the scooterist’s accomplice, who violently took away the Rolex Just Date, which he had just taken possession of from a jewelery shop in Viale Parioli.
Without giving the victim time to react, the two criminals quickly fled on their scooters, disappearing through the streets of the neighborhood.. The unfortunate man, acting promptly, called 112 to report the robbery he had suffered to the police officers.
Currently, the investigations are entrusted to the officers of the Salario-Parioli district of the police, who are trying to identify and arrest the culprits.
