Matteo Berrettini is in the final of the ATP 250 Boss Open tournament in Stuttgart. In just over an hour of play, the Roman tennis player got rid of Davis’ friend and teammate Lorenzo Musetti with the peremptory score of 6-4/6-0. An uneventful match, resolved by a break at the beginning of the first set and dominated by the former world number 6, who returned to competition a few weeks ago after an injury that kept him away from the circuit for several months. Tomorrow Berrettini will meet the British Jack Draper in the final, who in the other semi-final played in the morning beat the American Nakashima with a double 6-3.

So far Berrettini has won eight ATP titles, while he has surrendered at the last obstacle on five occasions. «The important thing is to save energy – he declared after the match – I have played a lot this week. It’s never easy playing against a friend. There was a bit of tension at the beginning, then I did well. Third final in Stuttgart? Since the first year, in 2019, I have felt comfortable: here is my Boss family. It’s great to play in front of this crowd. It’s been a tough two years, after so many injuries it’s nice to be back in the final. We still have one step to take, I’ll see you tomorrow. Draper? I’ve never faced him: he’s an excellent player, my team studied him well. It will be a match of services”, said the Roman.
