Despite the very warm reception of the international press, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree was the victim of review bombing due to the high difficulty that characterizes the DLC and which made numerous players turn up their noses. With the patch 1.12.2 something changes in this sense.
The new update of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree in fact, it acts on the difficulty of the game by modifying the balance of the game Blessings of the Shadow Realm: now the first half of the maximum upgrade offers a boost to the attack and defense of our Senzaluce, with the second half characterized by a more balanced progression. With the latest patch, there will be more significant improvements to attack and defense once the last level of blessings has been reached. So basically patch 1.12.2 makes it more impactful the blessings of the Shadow Kingdom effectively rebalancing the general difficulty while still maintaining it consistent and stimulating.
The patch notes by the way clearly imply that this is the case it won’t be the only update which will change the general difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree: “Further balance adjustments as well as bug fixes are planned for a future patch“, says FromSoftware. For the rest, the 1.12.2 update also offers something new for PC players, with the settings Ray Tracing which were automatically activated by loading save files from previous versions of the game: now, however, by deactivating Ray Tracing from the graphics settings you will no longer run the risk of having it automatically enabled again.
While waiting for further updates, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree continues to dominate on Steam despite Review Bombing.
