The Hamburg Tournament for the men’s and women’s Italseven also ended. In the second stage of the Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series, Mazzantini’s Azzurri played in the tournament for 5th-8th place, beating Spain 15-12 in the morning and then losing 14-12 to Georgia in the final: 6th place in the final for men’s Italy.

Diego Saccà’s Azzurre instead finished in 10th place after losing the final against Portugal 17-7: “Despite the fact that we participated in the two stages of Makarska and Hamburg with two quite different groups, we managed to maintain the right to participate to this competition, putting in all the effort possible.”
“That’s why I’m happy, the girls gave their all in all the matches, preparing for a very high level tournament, against teams that participate in the World Series, adapting to a discipline different from rugby union” said the coach at the end of the Tournament.
