The tenth edition of Sicilia in Bolle celebrates the success of bubbles, with masterclasses, conferences and an unforgettable Gala Dinner.

Blanc dei Blanc from the Fazio cellars, Charmat method, triumphed at the tenth edition of Sicilia in Bolle. But there are many award-winning wines. An edition that was once again rich and well attended, from masterclasses to conferences in the suggestive setting of the Scala dei Turchi, up to the Gala Dinner at the foot of the Temple of Concordia, comes to an end. We can speak of a well-established organization and a quality participation that was able to involve experts, professionals, enthusiasts, the curious and consumers.

Sicilia in Bolle, conceived and organized by the AIS of Agrigento and Caltanissetta, confirms itself as a point of reference for all of Sicily. An event of sure appeal that everyone wants to participate in. Just think of the numbers of the final evening, which as per tradition was held at the Madison: over 40 tasting stands and more than 1000 admissions. An event directly proportional to the growth of the AIS of the Agrigento and Caltanissetta section. An event that has had a great merit in recent years: amplifying the attention for Sicilian bubbles and gathering people who, after these experiences, have gotten even closer to the world of wine, wanting to document themselves, study, sign up for sommelier courses and drink consciously.

Many, since the first editions, perhaps driven more by the social life of the event, have found themselves at the event and, although they knew each other, they did not know they had a common passion: that for wine. But the growth of the AIS of Agrigento is also demonstrated by the action of Francesco Baldacchino as regional president. Baldacchino, good and competent, has always remained humble and with his feet on the ground, as well as the entire team of collaborators who surround him. Naming a name would end up doing an injustice to the others, but certainly the trustee of Agrigento and Caltanissetta, Lillo Trupia, must be named.

The tenth edition was attended by illustrious guests, starting with the journalist Federico Quaranta, the “Best Sommelier in Italy 2016” Maurizio Dante Filippi, the national president of AIS Sandro Camilli and Paolo Tamagnini, speaker of AIS. The hosts were the regional president of AIS Francesco Baldacchino and Lillo Trupia, AIS delegate for the provinces of Agrigento and Caltanissetta. The choice of the jury, chaired by Luigi Salvo, was interesting, and was divided into tasters, journalists, restaurateurs and sommeliers.
