“I sense their desire, they want to become champions”

In a few hours his Docufilm with the last days of his career will officially be released (on Amazon Prime) and Roger Federer is back in the conversation. The legendary Swiss champion spoke about himself to the microphones of the Gazzetta dello Sport, he spoke about many topics, from current tennis to what distinguishes this sport and also how he occupies his life without tennis.

Roger didn’t suffer much from saying goodbye to this sport, initially maybe a little but then he started his new life and seemed enthusiastic about it. Speaking to the Rosea, the former tennis player also spoke about the four children’s relationship with tennis: “I don’t know if they will become champions or not, but I’m happy that all four really like playing tennis.

The twins play 3-4 times a week while the boys are still young and I sense in them the desire to become champions. However, we are talking about a long process, you don’t climb Everest in a single night, in general I appreciate them doing physical activity.”

Roger spoke about what his life is like now and his typical day without tennis: “I wake up early and go to the gym, then I help the kids get ready for school. I’m happy to be able to carve out time to keep fit , I try to play tennis, both with my children and with my friends and then I dedicate myself to the foundation and my sponsors.

In general my life is going very well, I sleep less and spend a lot of time with my children, especially in Switzerland. I’m participating in various projects, like this one from Amazon, I waste a lot of energy on this and I’m happy about it.” Federer has explained in recent days that tennis isn’t everything and that life is bigger than a tennis court, the Swiss is managed to manage his farewell to tennis without any particular problems and it is not easy for a champion of such stature.
