Visma|Lease a Bike, Cian Uijtdebroeks will be at the Tour of Switzerland

Cian Uijtdebroeks will return to the race at the Tour of Switzerland 2024. Forced to leave a Giro d’Italia in which he was aiming for a good result in the general classification due to a respiratory virus, the 21-year-old Belgian has now digested the disappointment and, having overcome the health problems, will be back in the group this week. The focus is therefore on the short Swiss stage race, scheduled from 9 to 16 June, in which he will be able to try to test himself again at high levels, driving a Visma | Lease a Bike which is currently still in the throes of many doubts in its approach to the Tour de France.

The 2003 class is not expected to start the Grande Boucle and a change in this sense seems highly unlikely at the moment, but for him the Swiss event will still be a good test given that there will be no shortage of leading riders at the start of a race that in half of the two time trials, which open and close the race, includes four interesting consecutive mountain stages. Currently engaged in some intense training sessions in Andorra, the Flemish talent will be an interesting outsider in the hunt for the title which last year was won by Mattias Skjelmose over Juan Ayuso and Remco Evenepoel.
