Quartu Sant’Elena. Arrested after stealing “Scratch and Win” from a bar/betting shop.
On Sunday night, the Flying Squad of the Quartu Sant’Elena Police Station, together with a crew from the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, arrested a 34-year-old from Quartu, on the alleged crime of aggravated theft of scratch cards.
During the night on Sunday a report was received indicating a “broken” at a bar/betting shop in Via Monsignor Angioni in Quartu Sant’Elena and the perpetrator was seen walking away in the direction of Via Belgio.
The Police Station Agents, together with the Police Headquarters Flying Squad, cordoned off the adjacent streets, first managing to locate the man and then stopping him in the dirt road adjacent to the Quartu municipality cemetery.
The man, known to the operators for his numerous previous convictions for property crimes, was filmed by the video surveillance system camera while he kicked the glass of the entrance door of the bar and then entered it and, having reached the counter, took possession of 130 coupons.Scratch and win” for a total value of €264 and a bottle of sparkling wine.
The 34-year-old was accompanied to the Quartu Sant’Elena Police Station where, after completing the formal procedures, he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated theft.
The facts ascertained by the State Police investigators were submitted to the GIP for evaluation, who, following the hearing with a summary procedure, validated the arrest with the application of the precautionary measure of house arrest.
