Another great transfer coup, and another important homecoming for Mogliano: Edoardo Padovani leaves again from the club that launched him and with which he won the scudetto in 2013. The attacking midfielder born in 1993 will further raise the level of a club that this summer is authoring a top-level purchasing campaign.

Among others, former Italian players Giovanni Pettinelli, Marco Lazzaroni and Leonardo Sarto will also arrive in Mogliano. The Venetian club appears increasingly intent on replicating and improving the results of last season, in which it reached the playoffs.

“Coming back here is like coming home,” Padovani said upon signing: “This club has been a fundamental part of my life, not only as an athlete but also as a person. It’s where I started to dream big, it’s where I learned what it really means to be part of a team.”

“The thought of returning to the fields where I experienced unforgettable moments, like winning the Scudetto, fills me with joy and a deep sense of gratitude. This club has given me so much and now I feel it’s time to give something back. I want to make my experience, my commitment and all the passion I have for this sport available to help the team grow and aim for new goals,” continued the goal-getter of Italy’s historic victory in Cardiff in 2022.

Coach Marco Caputo is also enthusiastic: “Padovani is a local boy, who is returning home. He is a player who can cover many positions in the 3/4, all at a high level. We will try to make use of this ability. Edo is already very well known and popular in our group and this will facilitate the blending with his new team. I believe that the recruitment of Pettinelli, Padovani, Lazzaroni, Borean, Sarto and the other additions, demonstrates our ambition to want to challenge the teams that traditionally dominate the Championship”.

“We need these players to set an example for our young group, showing them what it takes to be successful, both on and off the field. I hope our young players take the opportunity to observe and learn how to become a high-level performer” concluded the coach.
