The United States helped Ukraine “knowing what will happen if Putin succeeds in subjugating” the country he invaded. “All of Europe will be threatened”, therefore, says Biden. “We will not allow it, the US remains alongside Ukraine, our allies and France. We will not back down.” The White House occupant apologized to the Ukrainian leader on Friday Volodymyr Zelensky for the long delay with which the US Congress approved a new military aid package. “I wish they had been unlocked six months ago, but we finally did it,” she commented. But “we are keeping our promises”.
Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, Biden joined Macron in congratulating the release of the four Israeli hostages and promised that “we will not stop working until all hostages they will not return home and a ceasefire will not be reached. It is essential that this happens.” The French president reiterated that it is necessary to reach a “cease fire immediately and open the prospect of a political solution, the only one capable of creating the conditions for one just and lasting peace and respond to the security needs of the two peoples.” France “supports the US proposal for a comprehensive agreement”.
