It will be a summer of passion for those who remain in the city. Road construction sites are multiplying in Padua both in the center and in the immediate suburbs. Tomorrow July 1st, the greatest critical issues will be seen in East Padua. From Monday, in fact, to make room for the Tecnomat megastore that will be built on the “ashes” of the lake, work will begin on the construction of a new roundabout on Via San Marco. For the next few months, this will imply inevitable inconveniences to traffic for those who need to reach the city from Noventa Padovana and neighboring towns and vice versa. The local police will constantly monitor the areas affected by the works to minimize the inconvenience of users and guarantee the necessary safety for the teams of workers at work.
The project
The construction activity is quite complex: in addition to the roundabout in via San Marco which is also approved for future tram passage, a roundabout will be built to connect with the Ikea spaces and a third at the intersection of via delle Granze , via Settima Strada and via Franceschini. Under the Darwin bridge from tomorrow until 15 September the road section will be closed to vehicles in transit. Instead, two-way traffic will be established in via San Marco so as not to permanently block traffic. We are talking about an urban planning project that has been talked about for 16 years and which will now be implemented. When the construction site is completed, work will begin on the creation of the Tecnomat megastore. To make the area more livable, a small urban forest was created.
