The regional Civil Protection of Veneto issued ayellow weather alert for hydraulic risk and hydrogeological risk for thunderstormsvalid from 2 pm today to 6 am on Tuesday 2 July. While the yellow alert for hydrogeological storm risk is valid for the entire region, the one for hydraulic risk is valid for the Adige-Garda and Monti Lessini, Po, Fissero-Tartaro-CanalBianco and Basso Adige, Basso Brenta-Bacchiglione basins.
“Conditions of instability remain in the region, especially on Monday 1 July when the transit of a trough extending from Northern Europe to the central Mediterranean is expected. Some showers and thunderstorms will affect the region already in the second part of Sunday, especially in the central and north-eastern hinterland, and some intense local phenomena cannot be ruled out”we read in the alert bulletin. “On Monday, precipitation, including showers and thunderstorms, will be more widespread and frequent, starting from the mountain areas in the morning and then moving towards the plains, in whose southern areas they may persist even in the early hours of Tuesday 2nd. Locally intense thunderstorms will be possible (heavy showers, strong gusts, local hailstorms)”, concludes the bulletin.
